I Wanna K*ll An Engineer (TV Show)

TV Show, Evil, NSFWPam PalmieriComment

Idea: A TV show where people air grievances against engineers of bad and/or needlessly difficult to repair products, and the engineer responsible either immediately faces severe consequences (decided by the audience), or they have a chance to repair a broken product, and if they designed it so poorly that they fail to quickly repair it, then they (and possibly even their family) face the severe consequences. Also: debating whether Pam's grievance was actually the fault of an engineer; expanding the idea to punish other people who screw you over (either intentionally or through incompetence), such as mechanics, service workers, and realtors; customer service reps would either be immediately put on the chopping block for angering consumers, or would have immense power in deciding who's fault the problem was to put them on the chopping block instead

Insult To Injury

TV Show, Event or ActivityAlex WilsonComment

Idea: A TV show where real-life disputes are resolved via boxing matches and comedians commentate and then roast the winner (because roasting the loser would be too cruel). Also: providing a healthier outlet for male rage than gun violence; offering the bully free therapy instead of roasting them (because the US will do anything to avoid universal health care); comparing the idea to the TV show "Bully Beatdown" and discussing whether bullies are a fundamental aspect of this show (and deciding that they are not); having themed episodes, such as teachers vs. grown-up disruptive students, IT workers vs. annoying tech-illiterate office workers, Karens, etc.

The Silver Tongue (TV Series)

TV ShowNiko LukoffComment

Idea: A gritty, realistic, HBO-style drama about an amoral social expert/negotiator/facilitator who works on contract to help solve problems for people or organizations, such as facilitating illegal commerce, helping a president avoid a scandal, helping someone get a date, etc. Also: avoiding the hacky network TV "genius protagonist" procedural format ("Lie to Me", "The Pretender", "Numb3rs", etc.) where the main character is too smart/powerful or making the main character's skill(s) relevant to each episode/plotline stretches believability; a backstory in which the main character honed his social skills in the mob but then the mob dissolved and so he went solo; the main character is like James Bond making witty comments at the Baccarat table but then there's no gunfight and everyone just peacefully walks away (like a Bond movie made in a world where movie violence isn't allowed); maybe the main character has almost supernatural social skills but can't get along with his family and repeatedly bombs at standup comedy open mics

Sexy Promiscuous 60-Year-Old Woman TV Series

TV ShowAmanda VKComment

Idea: A TV show like Californication starring a senior-aged but still attractive and promiscuous protagonist, only in this case, it's a woman. Also: there should more female equivalents of a "silver fox" who's "still in the game" and "all the dudes still drool over"; an awkwardly long conversation about older actresses we find attractive and whether they'd be a good fits for the role, such as Jennifer Coolidge, Emma Thompson, Annette Bening, and Andie MacDowell; brainstorming a plot, such as a sex addiction counselor who has to hide her own sex addition, a show similar to "Poker Face" where a woman uses her attraction to bad men to help her solves crimes, and a show about a conservative female politician's embarrassingly wild mother who's actions repeatedly put her daughter's political career at risk

Adventures of Allison (Short Cartoons)

Art, TV ShowAllison ArmstrongComment

Idea: Short cartoons based on mostly-autobiographical weird, funny, or interesting things that happened in Allison's life, such as her and a friend getting hissed at by a goth after almost running her over with their car and then saying "Oh my God, there would've been paint everywhere!!!", and her getting picked up like a baby and carried out of a mosh pit by a guardian angel skinhead. Also: making cartoons out of stories that don't work as standup comedy; goths, emo concerts, vampires, and Buffy, a non-ideological reason to appreciate "cancel culture"

Junk Drawers of the Rich and Famous

TV ShowConnie EttingerComment

Idea: A TV show where celebrities and rich people show their junk drawers, so you can see things about them that you don't normally see, such as whether they're messy, whether they own interesting rich people stuff or a larger quantity of normal people stuff, whether they pay people to keep their stuff organized, etc. Also: the TV show could also show stuff that celebs keep in other places (attics, pantries, purses, pill drawers, etc.) and other things from celebrities private lives (hobbies and collectibles, diaries and childhood artifacts, unflattering body parts, grown-up children, etc.); the risk of getting robbed after showing your stuff on TV

1980s-Style Sitcoms of Serial Killers

Evil, TV Show, NSFWJustin SiekierkaComment

Idea: To make sitcoms in the style of the 1980s or 1990s (containing audience cheers, laugh tracks, etc.) in which the main character(s) are serial killers. Examples could be "Manson Family Matters", "Perfect Stranglers", "HH Holmes Improvement", and "Buried With Children". Also: a show about murderous pets or puppets; a show which uses CGI to allow grown-up child stars to go back into their old shows and murder their past selves (example: Neil Patrick Harris murdering Doogie Howser); a "Dating Game"-style show to pick a serial killer's next victim or where the losing contestants are "eliminated"

Eavesdrop Diner

TV Show, Food, Business Idea, Social MediaCarl SobelComment

Idea: A chain of restaurants where every table is live-streamed on the Internet to allow people watching at home to eavesdrop on their conversations, pay for their food and/or drinks, give them likes, chat/gossip with other eavesdroppers who're watching the same table, and (in some cases) send messages to interact with the people eating at the restaurant. Also: watching first dates, anniversary dinners, arguments, and break-ups; acting fake or fetishy for the camera; a coaster or tracker to allow the camera to follow you around while you do activities (like play pool) in the restaurant; an "event wheel" for eavesdroppers to spin to cause events in the restaurant (for example, to cause a waitress to spill the drinks)

Diners, Drive-Ins, and Deliveries

Food, TV Show, FuturisticChris YoungComment

Idea: A TV show about food where you can order the food being showcased on the show and have it quickly delivered to your door, ideally by the time the show ends. Also: people feeding you grapes like you're a king; futuristic food delivery ideas such as pneumatic tubes, drones that both deliver and cook the food, military MRE-style self-cooking food packets, and 3D food printing; do you trust computer tacos?; YouTuber Mr. Beast's "Mr. Beast Burger", ghost kitchens, and how he could add a new item to the food menu on the same day that he showcases it on a YouTube video

Action Dads

TV Show, Movie, ParentingJohnny MocnyComment

Idea: A reality TV show where a family temporarily replaces the dad with a washed-up action movie star, such as Steven Seagal or Brian Bosworth. The action star would complain that his whole body aches and begrudgingly participate in family-oriented events organized by the reality show. He could be so horrible that he makes the family more appreciative of their real dad, or he could sleep with the mom and destroy the family. Also: action moms; solving every family problem using violence (for example, beating up a hostile neighbor); the family could help the action star more than the action star helps the family; the dad could temporarily live the action star's life and act in a SyFy channel B-movie involving a natural disaster and a random predatory animal

Good Netflix

App, Movie, TV Show, Business IdeaBrett MercerComment

Idea: A redesign of Netflix which is actually good. It'll be good because a) the shows are better (obviously), and because b) it'll offer a much more immersive experience. It'll support immersion into a particular movie or TV show by including commentaries, Arsenio Hall talk show promotional segments, bloopers, and other bonus content related to the movie or TV show. It'll also support immersion into the time period of the movie or TV show by showing TV commercials from the time period (and allowing you to buy the old-timey products in the commercials), by enabling censorship rules from the time period, by simulating audio/video quality problems of the time period (such as tracking issues), and by simulating other inconveniences from the time period (such as stopping the video stream at 1:00 AM to simulate the local TV broadcast tower shutting down for the night)

Health Insurance Game Show

Evil, TV Show, Politics and Social IssueJoseph JohnsonComment

Idea: A dark and exploitative game show where poor or jobless contestants compete for basic human needs, such as health insurance, basic income, or citizenship. Also: eliminating taxes for game show winnings because the poor depend on those winnings; the British game show called "Beat the Crusher" where they crush your car if you lose; an idea for a celebrity game show called "Loan Shark Tank" where celebrities break your legs if you lose and can't pay; a jobless future based on building/crafting competition shows like "Forged in Fire" instead of full-time jobs

Celebrity Chef Cook-Off: Bourdain vs. Ramsay vs. Bobby Flay

Food, TV Show, Event or ActivityJacqui MarpaComment

Idea: A celebrity cooking competition between Anthony Bourdain, Gordon Ramsay, and Bobby Flay. Jacqui wants Bourdain or Ramsay to humiliate Bobby Flay, and maybe also beat him up physically, because she doesn't like Bobby Flay's smug condescending smile and pedestrian dishes

"A Storybook Life" TV Show

Evil, TV ShowTom WalmaComment

Idea: A TV show about a TV writer who secretly manipulates events in his daughter's life in a criminal and psychopathic way, to give her a happy and emotionally-heightened life, like the sitcoms or family dramas that he writes. The criminal and/or immoral acts (slashing tires, faking social media posts, murder, etc.) he does to other people to manipulate them to give his daughter a better life are a precarious house of cards that's always threatening to come tumbling down. The show is an exaggeration of how dads in real life are often overprotective over their daughters to a degree which is creepy

Wild Animal Home Renovation Show

Animal Rights / Vegan, Pets, Silliness, TV ShowJoe BatesComment

Idea: A home renovation show for the homes or habitats of wild animals (bears, beavers, birds, etc). Examples of renovations include a recliner for a sloth, salmon on tap for a bear, and an even dirtier toilet for a sewer rat. The TV show could show sad back stories (such as a penguin getting covered with oil during an oil spill) and could give the animals special gifts (like a prosthetic leg). The animals could maul the hosts to death if they don't like the renovations. Also: a more humane zoo; famous attempts to build armor to survive animal attacks; PETA bailing out somebody who burned down an animal testing lab at a university and then returning to the university to recruit new members; Tom got chewed out as a child in the 90s for emailing a nature conservatory asking for funny chimp videos

TV ShowRon RigbyComment

Idea: A TV show where a police chief and defense attorney conspire to cause guilty defendants to be found innocent so they can murder them. OCD Thief Comedy Sketch

Silliness, TV ShowSam SilversteinComment

Idea: A comedy sketch where a thief with OCD cleans houses as he robs them. So either the homeowners will be so happy that the house is clean that they forgive him, or they'll blame the maid. Idea: An absurdist cartoon where stoner Yetis find a crashed alien spaceship and use it to go on adventures trying to find their homeworld and make friends, not realizing they're not aliens and they're scaring everyone they're trying to be friends with. Also: the alien who's spaceship they stole is wandering around Earth; a friendly-seeming spaceship that's actually evil and trying to get the Yetis killed

Deadly Escape Room

Evil, Event or Activity, NSFW, Silliness, TV ShowJason AltComment

Idea: Escape rooms with real danger, like the movie Saw, which are possibly televised. Also: a more intense corporate team-building exercise or test of character for engaged couples, white-collar criminals tend to be smarter than regular criminals and thus would be funner to watch in a Saw-like escape room, wondering why there aren't any recreational drugs that are taken using acupuncture needles
